In the summer of 2023 I dedicated my time to studying the perception of reality of blind and visually impaired people. I wondered therefore what the hardest challenges were, and I concentrated on how to make the invisible visible.
The programme was proposed to the Unione Italiana Ciechi ed Ipovedenti (Italian Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired) of Verona: the result was surprising in that seven of the course participants revealed a strong intuitive ability and determination in the choice of what to shoot both from a compositional point of view and of technique.
The further challenge was to make the printing of images usable for their makers.
An experimental technique called tactile lithophane was used which produces, through a 3d printing, the parts in plain with relief of about 2.5 mm, the dark parts low.
The exhibition was presented in two exhibitions, at the National Archaeological Museum of Verona, in July 2024 and at the AGSM AIM (Main Sponsor) headquarters in Verona in October 2024.
